Kathmandu - Paro - Thimpu
Day 03 Arrive Paro, Transfer to Thimphu (D) | Fly from Kathmandu
Arrival in Paro: Your journey begins with your arrival at Paro International Airport, the gateway to Bhutan. The flight into Paro is renowned for its breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks.
Transfer to Thimphu: Following your arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The drive offers a first glimpse into the serene and picturesque landscape of Bhutan.
 
Altitude Information: Paro is situated at an altitude of 2,280 meters above sea level, and Thimphu is slightly higher, at 2,334 meters. This gradual ascent allows for gentle acclimatization.
Scenic Route: The journey from Paro to Thimphu takes you through winding roads along the Paro and Thimphu rivers, offering stunning views of the valley and rural life.

Thimpu to Punakha
Day 04 Drive Thimphu to Punakha | Distance: 75 Km | Duration: 3 - 4 Hours
 
Early Departure: Start your day early with breakfast in Thimphu before embarking on the scenic drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan.
 
Distance Covered: The journey to Punakha covers a distance of approximately 75 kilometers. Though relatively short, the drive is filled with mesmerizing landscapes and cultural landmarks.
 
Drive Duration: Expect the drive to take about 3 to 4 hours, depending on weather conditions and stops along the way. This journey through Bhutan's mountainous terrain offers breathtaking views and a deeper connection with the country's natural beauty.
 
Dochula Pass: One of the highlights of the drive is crossing the Dochula Pass, situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters. On a clear day, the pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including Bhutan's highest peak, Gangkar Puensum. The 108 chortens (stupas) at Dochula Pass are a sight to behold, symbolizing peace and harmony.

Distance & Travel Time: The total distance for the day's journey is approximately 150 kilometers, with an expected travel duration of around 5 hours. This includes the drive from Punakha to Wangduephodrang and onwards to Paro.
 
Wangduephodrang Exploration: While in Wangduephodrang, take the opportunity to explore the local town and its dzong. Though the original Wangduephodrang Dzong was damaged by fire, the area continues to offer insights into Bhutanese culture and history.

 Day 06 In Paro, Hike Tiger's nest (3,120m) | Duration: 5 hours approx. (back and forth)

Iconic Adventure: The fourth day of your journey features the highlight of the 4 Nights 5 Days Bhutan Tour — the hike to Paro Taktsang, more commonly known as Tiger's Nest Monastery.
