Nagarjun day hiking trail is one of the shortest and most beautiful trails close to Kathmandu Valley. Nagarjun Hill is very green hill in Shivapuri National Park, which is perfect for a short hike. The trail offers beautiful views of Himalayas like Ganesh Himal, Gauri Shankar, Langtang Range, Dorje Lakpa, and many more. This hiking trail to Nagarjun passes through beautiful greenary, walking in the shadow of rhododendron and canopy trees. Breathing fresh air gives you a real feel for nature. The first half of the trail is a steep climb, and the second half is gradual and scenic.
At the summit has a Buddhist Gompa and view tower, from the view tower you can see the panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley and the snow capped mountains on the northern side. You can hike any time of the day and you will not be bothered by the heat of the sun because this trail is under the canopy of the trees. After spending an hour at the top of the hill, we descend down half an hour to reach the end point of our day hiking.

After breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to the start point of the hike (Balaju by pass: about 2 km from down town). After taking the National park permit we hike two hours upward through the canopy forest, to reach to the top, where a beautiful Gompa is located. Stroll around for half an hour and descend half an hour to the exit point. Transfer to the hotel by private coach.
