Library established in memory of tourist

 

Himalayan Foundation, a New York based social organisation, has set up a library at a local school at Dubachaur VDC of Sindhupalchowk district with financial assistance fromy Americans and non-resident Nepalis living in the US.

Awanda S. Jawbsen, an officer at the cultural department of the US Embassy in Nepal, inaugurated the Edward Jr. Memorial School Library established at the premise of local Balsudhar Secondary School amid a function on Saturday.

Jawbsen said the US Embassy would provide necessary support to run the library. She also handed over books to the library on behalf of the US Embassy.

The library was established in memory of late Edward Jr. Miller, the son of Prof. Edward Miller. Prof. Miller provided significant help to the library established in memory of his late son who died a year ago at the age of 48.

Prof. Miller said he was very happy to help establish the library. “My son who had visited Nepal was the great lover of this beautiful Himalayan country,” he said.
