Dhaulagiri attracts more tourists


MYAGDI: Ahead of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 an increasing number of tourists are coming for Dhaulagiri round trekking. According to Area Police Office, Darbang, 510 tourists rounded Annapurna trekking region between the Nepali months of Baishak and Kartik. The number is double compare with the corresponding period last year, the office said.

More tourists are visiting Dhaulagiri after Annapurna round trekking route was removed from the world's top 10 best trekking routes. Beni, Singa, Tatopani, Babiyachaur, Darbang, Takam, Muna, Mudi, Bim, Marang, Dhaulagiri base camp, Dhampus, Yakkharka and Marpha fall in 15-day round Dhaulagiri trekking route.

Tourist guides say the Dhaulagiri trekking has been attracting more tourists as the route is risky yet thrilling.
