Chinese in Mustang for talks

A Chinese delegation representing Jhung Ba County of Tibet led by Cheng Zhu, the county's chief, arrived in Mustang on Sunday for the bilateral talks scheduled to take place at Jomsom on Wednesday. The two sides holding talks after two-year hiatus.

The meeting slated to take place in Nepal in 2008 was stalled—primarily due to burgeoning Free Tibet Movement. The following year after 2007 meet, Chinese authorities tightened the border security to stem incursion of free-Tibet campaigners inside the Tibetan territory, which largely cut off the market and access of Mustang locals to Tibeat as well.

The Wednesday's meet is expected to stretch the access of Mustang locals to Tibetan markets and enhance the cross-border trade.
